About Us Projects Banking Why Us Associates

40 Long Acre, London

A refurbishment with severe site restrictions over Covent Garden tube station. Another project definition could apply to this scheme; it was like trying to do a loft conversion with the development access through the letter box only.

The space was directly over the top of the Covent Garden tube station, and access was limited to a small ground floor door at the side of the station, used by thousands of visitors every day - including weekends (extreme lower right in the picture).

Notwithstanding that, it was an interesting refurbishment of office space for Fleishman Hillard, a member of the Omnicom Group with architects Walker & Martin responsible for concept, interior design and space planning. Services were design and build by Structuretone. Finishes were an interesting mix with polished plaster, high build paintwork and vinyl tiled walls and ceilings to feature areas.

In the offices, feature walls were highlighted very effectively with a swash of colour. The project was completed on time and to budget.

The distinctive shapes of the windows, along with attention to colour, light and furnishings produces a good creative environment for a PR company. View pictures of the interior.
