Barclays Global Headquarters at Canary Wharf , London
During April 2004 Crowley Project & Construction Management was invited to contribute to the project management and construction management on Barclays new global headquarters. The role was slightly different to the usual Crowley roles: working directly for Barclays with a fairly wide brief, similar to that on an earlier project for Barclays Capital, to progress fit out Cat A handover and liaising with Cat B Special Areas fit out which included 2 executive floors, a boardroom facility, a restaurant sized to cater for 5500 staff, a university area with 2 auditorium and a leisure area. These were progressed in terms of programme and quality to meet a final Accommodation Works programme of fit out of £multi-million value which included core extensions, service alterations, furniture installation with decoration and floor finishes. The PC date for each phase was met and the tenant occupancy commenced on 14th January 2005. The assignment was headed by Construction Group Consultancy Ltd with which Crowley has worked in association before. The involvement continued to cover final close down and post contract works and business changes.
